Dean caused very little physical damage, though Jamaica has unsurprisingly still been on its knees for days and that is likely to continue for the foreseeable future. Thankfully having an ex-Prime minister as a near neighbour has its advantages and water and power were restored to our area today. I can safely check out of the comfort of the hotel.

It was just as well I had moved out, as it transpires, the team work sent around to board up the house, managed to completely smash up my water tank, and neglected to tell me. As I was counting on this and had not purchased enough water otherwise, things could have gotten a little desperate over the 4 days.
